About Me
Dr. Mehak Bansal
Dr. Mehak Bansal is Senior Consultant Pediatrician and Pediatric Intensivist in Clio Mother and Child Institute, Inside Orison Hospital, Barewal Road and Little Angels Child Care Clinic, Ludhiana, where she runs a 40 bedded Intensive Care Unit, Outpatient and Inpatient services for kids. She has an experience of more than 15 years in the field of pediatrics and Pediatric critical care and has been treating children since many years with love, care and compassion.After doing her post-graduation in CMC Ludhiana, she developed interest in Pediatric Critical Care. Thereafter, she did her Pediatric Critical Care Fellowship from Indraprastha Apollo Hospital, New Delhi . After that she moved to UK to get experience of western PICUs and bring the knowledge back to India and has worked in reputed Institutes like Kings College Hospital and Great Ormond Street Children Hospital, London and enhanced her experience in pediatric liver transplant, Critical Care Nephrology, Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care and ECMO. She has also worked as Senior Consultant and Pediatric Intensivist, SPS Hospitals, Ludhiana for 6 years . Currently she is working in Clio Mother and Child Institute, Ludhiana with a vision to deliver ethical, excellent, and affordable healthcare to every mother and child of Punjab and nearby states and has all Pediatric superspecialities under one roof.
Academics
She is an academician and a researcher and in her 15 years of experience she has taught Undergraduate Students , post graduate students and Pediatric Critical Care Fellows. She is one of the esteemed faculty and teacher of College of Pediatric Critical Care and Indian Academy of Pediatrics in India and have conducted many workshops and conferences to teach medical students, general pediatricians and pediatric intensivists in India and abroad.
She is a Pediatric Advanced life support Trainer and a Simulation Instructor in INDIA and her special interests in teaching are Point of Care Ultrasound, Basic and Advanced Ventilation, Pediatric Emergencies, Non-Invasive Ventilation, Pediatric ECMO and Renal Replacement Therpay, Pediatric Simulation and have conducted many workshops in these fields . Dr. Mehak has several publications in national and international journals and has written chapters for various Pediatric Medical Books.
Working for Social Cause
Dr. Mehak Bansal has been working hard since many years to save critically ill children from both privileged and unprevilidged backgrounds. She also works for kids of 4 orphanages of Ludhiana having close to 200 kids and is also a Pediatrician and Adoption Consultant of Specialized adoption agency SGB Bal Ghar.
She is affiliated with various NGOs in India like Rotary International, Young Indians, Junior Chamber International (JCI), SGB Foundation, Eknoor Sewa Kendra and Sehyog Ek Prayas where we organize health camps and charity clinics in slum areas for underprivileged Children. She has done tremendous work on Child abuse in Punjab and has formulated a program and educate kids about good touch, bad touch and self-protection techniques. Overall, she has conducted sessions in 40 schools and have educated close to 40,000 children in Punjab region . In August 2021 , she became a member of Child welfare Committee , Ludhiana and work with district administration Ludhiana for 4 orphanages , child care institutions and juvenile jail of Ludhiana and work for legal aspects of abused , orphans , abandoned and surrendered children.
She is also a volunteer of Childline Ludhiana. Currently, Dr. Mehak is organizing vocational skills workshops in Juveline Jail and various orphanages of Ludhiana with City Needs , Darshan Academy and Jeet Foundation, Ludhiana to impart skills to children so that they can learn , earn and stand on their own feet once they leave the orphanage and face the world because she believes that Education and Skills are the most valuable assets in an individual’s life
